Nursing and Health Sciences Informatics Bootcamp

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences and the Louisiana Center for Health Innovation at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, in collaboration with the Louisiana HIMSS Chapter, are hosting the Nursing and Health Sciences Informatics Bootcamp on November 20–21, 2025, at University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
This intensive two-day course, guided by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) framework and led by Dr. Susan K. Newbold and Dr. Constance S. Berner, will educate attendees on the scope and standards of nursing and health sciences informatics practice. Topics will include:
• Leadership and professional trends
• Data management and human factors
• System lifecycle steps
• Core concepts in informatics, IT, and data security

Continuing Education Credits
This program is approved for up to 14.0 contact hours of continuing education (CE) credits. These credits may be applied toward:
• American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) continuing education requirements
• Certified Professional in Digital Health Transformation Strategy (CPDHTS®)
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CPHIMS®)
• Certified Associate in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CAHIMS®)

To earn a certificate, participants must attend the entire activity and submit an evaluation form.
