Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats (PSC) 10/22/2025 - 10/01/2026 $0.00

The purpose of this course is to train personnel in the proper actions involved in taking command of, launching, and handling of a survival craft during an emergency evacuation/abandonment from a vessel, Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU), or offshore facility.

Any applicant who has successfully completed the 32-hour Proficiency in Survival Craft course will satisfy:

The Survival Craft training requirements of Section A-VI/2 and Table A-VI/2-1 of the STCW Code; AND the training requirements of 46 CFR 12.10-3 (a) (6) for any endorsements as Lifeboatman, provided that sea service requirements are also met.
If presented within one year of the completion of training, the written and practical examination requirements of 46 CFR 12.10-5 for a Lifeboatman endorsement and the written Survival Craft examination requirements for service on vessels not equipped with lifeboats.
Upon completion, the certificate is valid for five years.

To renew a PSC endorsement, mariners must provide evidence of maintaining the standard of competence as set out in Table A-VI/2-1 of the STCW Code every 5 years. As specified in 46 CFR 12.613(b)(4) and Table A-VI/2-1 of the STCW 2010, mariners who cannot meet the requirement for 1 year of sea service within the last 5 years will be required to complete an approved PSC course or approved PSC refresher training that includes assessment of all competencies for PSC.

This two-day course will provide a means for a mariner to refresh their Proficiency in Survival Craft Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats endorsement. Upon completion, the certificate is valid for five years.
